R. Kenneth Luck

November 24, 1926 - January 18, 2025

R. Kenneth Luck ended his journey on earth peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January 18, 2025. A lifelong resident of Richmond, he led a full and active life. He served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Virginia Blood Bank/Services where he had a career as a blood technician. He was a former member of the Richmond Sail and Power Squadron where he enjoyed sailing many trips on his sailboat. He was a fifty year member of the Masonic Lodge #9, a forty-nine year member of ACCA Shriners. He was an avid golfer for seventy years, loved playing pool, enjoyed many trips to Myrtle Beach, driving his golf cart to the gym and taking many walks throughout his Cross Ridge neighborhood. He served as a volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital for twenty years. He was predeceased by his parents, Winston and Alma Kelley; and devoted step-daughter, Jane McKinley. He is survived by his loving wife, Martha; devoted step-daughter, Rebecca (Michael) Tufts; beloved sister, Mabel Brock; nieces and nephews, Pattie McLaughlin, Steve (Marie) Brock, Donna Brock, David (Sandy) Brock; and numerous great nieces and nephews; five step-grandchildren, Logan (Claire) McKinley, Melissa Sharifi, Sam (Johnna) Gurlen, Lydia Gurlen, Steven Gurlen; his devoted caregiver, Olga Kuzmina; long time friend, Irene Chamberlin; and many dear friends and neighbors in his Cross Ridge community.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 31 at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church officiated by Chip Joseph, Associate Pastor. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. and the service will begin at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, 1706 St. Matthew's Lane, Richmond, VA 23233.
