Richard Meredith "Dick" McGhee, Sr.

Richard Meredith "Dick" McGhee, Sr., 82, of Mechanicsville, went to be with his Savior on Monday, September 29, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Henry and Inez Fuller McGhee; late wife, Linda McGhee; son, Richard M. McGhee, Jr.; and sister, Renva Carver (Earl). Dick is survived by his wife, Lori; children, Ricky (Courtney), Scott (Texie), Daniel, Vicki McGhee (Brian Voegel), John Worley, Megan Andrews (Eric), Melanie Kallman (Isak), and Becky Norman (Will); 22 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; siblings, Lu Lord (Buddy), Duke (Nita), and Toni Liskie (Dick); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for the past 62 years, serving several rolls within the church. Dick owned his own construction company, but was best known as an advertising specialist with Richard M. McGhee's Caps and T's, serving King William and the Northern Neck area since July of 1981. He never met a stranger and used laughter in everything he did.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm Friday, October 3rd, at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Services will be held at 11 am Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 8005 Atlee Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23111. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
