Robert C. Andrews

Robert C. Andrews, 86, of Chester, Va., passed away on August 18, 2025. Born in Petersburg, Va., he was the son of the late Calvin and Shirley Andrews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Andrews.

Robert retired from the Richmond Times Dispatch after over 30 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife, Sherran Andrews, with whom he worked with at the newspaper; a granddaughter, Whitney Johnson; and a grandson, Alex Howell. Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Masons at Blandford Lodge #3.

Services for Robert will be private. Contributions in Robert's memory can be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation at https://secure.cbf.org/ or Hunters for the Hungry at https://hfth.nra.org/. Online condolences may be conveyed to the family at www.jtmorriss.com.

He was my boss when I worked in the ink room at the newspaper and the old building on third and grace. What a good man never had a bad moment working with him. Really enjoyed working for him. God speed bob.
