In Memoriam: Robert L. Parrish
You went so unexpectedly
A shock to all, including me
And now, the house feels so empty
And who's gonna feed the dogs?
There was a time you used to be
A faithful greeter at Atlee
But now, you're missed by so many
Including the dogs at home.
Friends and neighbors all do mourn
But daughter Connie is most forlorn
Because her Dad is really gone
And, who's gonna feed the dogs?
Eventually, we carry on
Paste on a smile 'til day is done
And try to sleep at setting sun
But, who's gonna feed the dogs?

The refrain is because it was primarily Uncle Bobby's job to feed the family pets.
And there's no doubt at all, where that dear man is now--- he was a good soul. But it's still okay for those of us left behind, to grieve our loss and miss him terribly. Even the dogs !

I've known Bobby from the mid 1940s as both he and I was reared at the Presbyterian Orphans Home in Lynchburg (renamed the Presbyterian Home in the 1950s). I always looked forward to seeing Bobby, along with my ""brothers and sisters" at the annual Homecomings. Bobby will be missed.

Our sincere condolences to the family. We had the pleasure of serving with Bobby at Atlee. Bobby welcomed all with a big smile and such joy. He loved meeting and greeting our Atlee family. He had such a tremendous impact on people. We will miss him. He is now with our Savior seating at the feet of Jesus

Bobby ( Pops ) was as kind a gentleman as you could find . I met Pops at the airport valet about 30 years ago when I was flying every week he always looked out for me and when he saw me pull up he would come over with a great big smile on his face and was always happy . Bobby always sent us a Christmas card every year God Bless You Bobby aka " Pops " and rest in piece my friend I´m proud to have you known you
