Judith, Sonia and John from Washington here. We were very sad to read of Ron's passing. Just this morning we were laughing over the good times we shared with you and Ron (and Bill and Virginia) on the 2014 River cruise in France. Of all the people we have met in our travels, you two are our favorites. We keep you both in our hearts with fondness.

Dear Judith,
As I seek some way of corresponding with you in a more personal way, I want to enter here my profound sadness at Ron's passing. You and Ron were so thoughtful and kind when my Carol passed away in June of 2015, and I remember your visit both to my home and our later luncheon together.
Ron made the decision to hire me in April 1977 to serve as Controller of VCU. I believe that the almost-immediate chemistry that he and I shared, both in terms of our vision for the school and the energies we were willing to extend for its benefit, made our collaboration inevitable. Ron was a great leader to me personally and for the entire University.
His impact on my career and future was nothing short of profound and has left me with a strong, ongoing sense of gratitude.
I wish you and your family my deepest sympathy and best wishes for the future.

Wondering if Ronald was related to my father, Jerome Beller, a veterinarian in Richmond???

As a college student I felt lucky and privileged to know him and his wife . They were regulars at EL Chico and we were hostesses at the resturant . He always had time to talk and was such a likable man . Thank You for a great memory.
