Ronald Marchand Obituary

MARCHAND, Ronald Richard, passed away peacefully on February 4th, 2024, at the age of 90 with family by his side. He was a long-time resident of Powhatan, VA. Born on August 1, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Bryan Marchand. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sally Marchand, his daughters Laura Stephens (Fred) and Cheryl Marchand, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean War, and until recently, was an active member of the Powhatan Lyons Club (past president), Miata Club (past president) and Powhatan Methodist Church.

He enjoyed cruising around in his Miata sports car and playing with his chocolate lab, Chip.

Services will be private.

I worked with Ron in sales in the late 90s. He was a very sincere and kind man. Everyday at lunch break he would work on the rtd crossword puzzle. The biggest smile I saw on his face was when he was arriving or leaving in his Miata. He really loved driving it! Ron taught us all to appreciate the small things.
