Ruth Steele Obituary

Ruth Elizabeth Cave Steele, 87, of Lakewood Manor, Richmond, formerly of Arlington, Va., died Monday, March 22, 2004. A native of Shenandoah, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Ernest Lee and Bertha Violetta Fox Cave. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Carter Steele, of Lakewood Manor; two sons, Stuart of Arlington, Va., Alan and his wife, Rose, of Glen Allen; two daughters, Shirley and her husband, Dr. Ray Meade, of Chester, and Mary Elizabeth "Mary Beth" and her husband, Rev. Eddie Williams of Gaithersburg, Md.; nine grandchildren, Kim S. Thomson (Greg) and Melissa S. Elliott (Steve) of Orlando, Florida, Kevin Steele of New York City, Vickylee M. Moreau (Scott) of Philadelphia, Penn., Dr. Jennifer M. Hart (Jay) of Rocky Mount, N.C., Jessica and Brian Steele of Glen Allen, and Matthew and Kallie Williams of Gaithersburg, Md.; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew, Bradley, and Scott Thomson, Krystina and Christopher Elliott, and Barnes and Caleb Moreau; and one sister, June March (Dick) of Little Egg Harbor, N.J. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Lakewood Manor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the "Ruth Steele Memorial Missions Fund", c/o First Baptist, Wheaton, 10914 Georgia Ave., Wheaton, Md. 20902.
