Samuel Richeson Obituary
Born in Petersburg, Va., he was the son of the late Thomas Rucker and Ida Bland Richeson. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Anne Finley Richeson. Mr. Richeson was a graduate of Randolph Macon College, earning a B.S. in Economics. He worked for AlliedSignal for 39 years, retiring in 1993. He was affiliated with several organizations including Hopewell Chamber of Commerce, United Way Board, St. James Parish Council and Finance Council, Crime Solvers and Hopewell Emergency Crew Board. He loved all things sports and traveling with his wife and family, especially after retirement. The entire family enjoyed an annual family beach vacation in Duck, N.C.
He is survived by a son, Michael Richeson; three daughters, Nancy R. Sharpe (Chip), Ellen Miller (Bruce) and Cathy Hermes (John); eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at St. James Catholic Church, 510 W. Poythress St., Hopewell, Va. 23860. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, North Prince George, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church in memory of Samuel B. Richeson. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
