Sandra Tenney Obituary
Also known as Sandie, Aunt Sandie, Aunt Sugar, she is survived by her loving husband, James A. Tenney; her sons, Marcus J. Tenney (Sarah Paciulli) of Richmond, Va. and Derrick J. Tenney of Midlothian. She is also survived by her brothers, John H. Bell III of Water View, Va. and Michael Bell (Sylvina) of Roanoke. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
Sandra graduated from the American High School in Mexico City, Mexico. She attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and she worked for over 30 years in the insurance industry.
Sandra was a lover of life. She loved her family. She loved to travel. She enjoyed cooking, movies, reading and sports. She also loved volunteering and supporting local charities. Sandie is greatly missed by many because she could often be the life of the party. Her love is eternal.
At the request of the family, there will be a private Celebration of Life.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to your local food bank.

I'm not even sure where to begin expressing the loss of such a loving friend! The news broke my heart as I know it did for so many especially her family who she loved so very much. The conversations we would have about her love for her boys & her husband were beautiful. She would light up telling me about all their accomplishments, Christmas traditions, projects happening at home, and her travels! We sat next to each other for years at Verus and when we were sitting next to each other we could be found in the hallway checking in on each other. Oh the laughs we had!! She truly was a very special lady, her honesty, her truth, and friendship meant so much to me and to say I miss her is an understatement! I will forever cherish her and the gift of our friendship. God bless her family & all her friends.

I am so sorry to hear of Sandie´s passing much too soon; I am shocked and saddened. She was a wonderful friend and a wonderful co-worker and I often thought of her and regret losing touch with her after I resigned my employment at Verus. She was nothing but fun and light and she was very kind to me at a difficult time in my own life. I will always have fond memories and am grateful to have known her. My condolences to her family who lost her too soon.

Sandie was a fantastic co-worker and friend. I feel so blessed that I got the chance to work with her for several years at Verus. We will all miss her skills, compassion, wit, and wisdom more than words can express. Wishing peace and loving memories to the family.

I was both shocked and saddened upon reading of Sandie´s passing. I had the privilege of working side by side in the same department at CNA Insurance. We were each pregnant with our first child at the same time! Sometimes when we had cravings we would take the elevator to all 5 floors in our building checking the vending machines for what we wanted!!!
She was one of the nicest people I ever knew! She was a hard worker and always so kind to everyone! She had a great personality and could always make people laugh! My deepest condolences to her entire family. She was a very special person and Heaven has gained a new angel.

Sandie was the light on the other side of the office. Her presence brightened the room. She will be missed by everyone. Her love for her family as she shared her sons' accomplishments was undeniable. Prayers for your family are on-going. May God's Peace and Grace be with you all.

I was saddened to read about Sandie's passing. We worked together at CNA in Reading, PA in the late 80's and early 90's. My sincere condolences to the Tenney family. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

It is unbelieveable that this wonderful friend, co-worker has left us. I could also count on Sandie to go to "Mexico" for lunch & a good laugh. My heart is heavy for her family as I know she loved all of you dearly. Sandie will be missed greatly!

To say she has positively impacted my life in so many ways is an understatement. Sandra was one of the most passionate, intelligent, loving, and wise human beings that I know. Without her guidance, I would not be where I am today. She always taught me the importance of education and patience and how to navigate the world. She was also so proud of her sons' achievements. The entire building knew of her sons's achievements in art and music and she shared her love and pride of them with everyone else. I am beyond devastated by the sudden loss of not just a co-worker but a great friend. She made the world a better place. We will miss her talks of chimichangas and kung pao chicken at lunch. We will miss her talks of the new Avengers' movies. We will miss her hearing about all the Bath and Body Works deals she found. We will miss her terribly.
