Scott Meyer Obituary

MEYER, Mr. Scott D., of Richmond, joined his Savior Jesus Christ in eternal life on December 26, 2020. Scott was a loving father and grandfather, honorable husband, loyal friend and colleague. He was always there for his family, often with a camcorder in hand recording his life's wonderful moments and supporting his wife and kids. Scott was a consummate business executive in the consumer electronics industry, starting his career with Commtron Corporation in Des Moines, Iowa, and continuing at Circuit City in Richmond, Va.; Samsung in Richmond, Va.; RadioShack in Fort Worth, Texas; and Navy Exchange in Virginia Beach, Va. Scott was a proud graduate of both Drake University and Dowling Catholic High School in Des Moines, Iowa and an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. He especially enjoyed spending time on his boat on Lake Anna and will always be remembered for driving the coolest and cleanest car, usually a red convertible Chevy. Scott is survived by the love of his life and mother of his children, Kelli Metge Meyer; his loving children, Alison D. Meyer and Derek S. Meyer (Kimberly); beautiful granddaughter, Brooke N. Meyer; and expected grandson, Jack H. Meyer; beloved granddogs, Memphis Belle and Buddy; brothers, Dr. John K. Meyer (Marian) and Craig A. Meyer (Jerell); sister-in-law, Kay Meyer; brother-in-law, R. Jeffrey Metge (Cindy); and sister-in-law, Jill M. Weiskircher (James); and many special nieces, nephews and close friends whom he loved very much. Scott joins in eternal life his father, John K. Meyer, Esq.; mother, Alice V. Meyer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert W. and Patricia A. Metge; brothers, Glenn and Dale Meyer; stepmother, Gail Meyer; and stepbrother, Christopher Osborn. The family will receive friends at an outdoor Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Scott's home church, Christ Lutheran Church, 7809 Woodman Rd., Richmond, Va. 23228. Memorials and condolences in Scott's memory may be sent to Christ Lutheran Church, 7809 Woodman Rd., Richmond, Va. 23228. We miss you so much, Dad. Thank you for providing for us, and for all the great memories and love we shared. We will live on in your honor and love you always. - A & D

Kelli, Ali and Derek,
I was so sad to see that Scott had passed away. He was such a kind and cool individual. I was always envious of those cars. I hope you know that I have a special place in my heart for your entire family from our TLL days. I lost count how many times I drafted Derek. In recent years playing rec softball against Derek has been fun.
Just know if you need anything, please reach out. Our whole family is thinking and praying for you during these days of grief.
I was planning on attending the ceremony but was under the weather a bit so thought it best to stay home.

I hope my note as well as the notes from so many who loved Scott and were touch by him will be of some comfort as you grieve his passing. He will be missed by so many.

Remember Scott as always being a class act and a wonderful person to work with. I worked out of the Solon, Oh branch, but knew we could call him for assistance, and he was always a pleasure. May God Bless the Meyer family.

Sad to learn the news today of Scotts passing. Scott worked at Commtron in Des Moines when I started in 1981. He was a great guy & fun co-worker. I actually got to drive his white Corvette once, as I bought one of his other cars & he allowed me that favor. Prayers for Kelli & to all the Meyer family.

I met Scott at RadioShack around 2006 and was part of his merchandising team. He was a consummate professional and an excellent merchant, and we later became friends as we pursued other endeavors.

Scott was a man of integrity, extremely patient, and very kind. He was completely devoted to Kelli and loved his children. He was so proud of their accomplishments.

Rest In Peace Scott. May the Lord cradle your soul and shower blessings upon your family.

My sincere sympathies to Scott's family. I knew Scott through our association with NEX. I'll always admire his knowledge of our industry, and personally appreciate the support and guidance he provided in our working relationship. And on a personal note, our shared interest in the budding rivalry between the Hawkeyes and the Huskers. Rest in peace, Scott. You will be missed by many.

I remember playing twister w my cousins Ali and Derek during Christmas at grandma gails. Remember a story my dad would tell about a blue flame special he and scott shared.Tough to loose a father at a young age but the memories live on forever and get easier to see as time passes.

Many of my earliest family memories include Uncle Scott. I remember being a ring bearer in he and Aunt Kelli's wedding. I remember our Christmases in Des Moines with all of the cousins as well. I will always cherish these and keep them close to my heart.

I will miss you, Uncle Scott.

When someone leaves you, it is often the small things that you think about. With Uncle Scott, one of the things I will miss most is his smile. His eyes would crinkle in the corners, and his grin would encompass his whole face, drawing you in and warming your heart.
