17 years ago you were taken from us so unexpectedly, that our brains couldn´t process the news. Yet today, somehow it feels like yesterday and at the very same time it feels like forever since we have seen your smile or had a hug from you. You made an impact on all of us in your 20 years and you will never be forgotten by your family, your friends, and everyone that loved you. One day... we will all be together again... oh what a glorious day it will be. Love you always, Auntie

Dear Steve and Pam~
Thank you so very much for your kind words.....and thank you for remembering our Shawn in such a loving manner every single year by reaching out and touching....it means the world to our family. It has been our honor and with much help from our friends to be able to give back to Tuckhahoe Rescue Squad...Shawn had an immense passion for volunteering with your fine organization, as you know, and it is quite obvious that you two also share that passion. We appreciate your prayers and will continue to pray for your safety as well while you help so many others in need. God bless you! Love, Susan, Christopher, Graham and the entire Bryant Family

Shawn Michael. I have been thinking about you so much lately. It is still so surreal that you are gone. I feel like you are just going to show up one day. I can just see your smiling face right now, but wish I could see it in front of me instead of in my imagination. Heaven is probably so nice up there and im' sure you're looking down on us everyday. Graham,
Ever since the terrible tragedy of losing Shawn, I've done nothing but pray for you, Christopher, and the rest of your family to cope with this incredible loss. I think of Shawn everyday and often talk to him.I know he's still here because he's helped me in so many ways with so many problems. I know our families aren't close like what we used to be, but don't ever think that we don't care, we have always loved you! Shawn meant the world to us and he will always be apart of our lives. We will never forget him, nor the love our families shared with one another. I hope you are doing well, and you will be in my prayers.
Love, Brittany

Graham, I am very sorry for your loss and that I only found out when I stopped by to visit...it really hits close to home when something like that happens, and makes me think twice about everything I do...knowing your sons, and what has happened, has made a lot of people much more thoughtful in their approach to life.

Susan,
Hi, I am a friend of Laurie Kershner and we met at the boys high school graduation party. I worked on the guys baby pictures over the fireplace. I just heard about Shawn. I am so sorry for your loss. I can not imagine. You had such a wonderful son and you should be very proud of what a gift he was to all that knew him. My husband and I really were happy to see what great friends Ryan had while at their graduation. Your sons sense of humor and good nature stood out amongst all that were there. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

The Promise
By:Kim Hansen
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened
grain,
I am the gentle Autumn rain,
When you awaken in the morning's
hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush,
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at
night.
Do not think of me as gone,
I am with you still, in each new
dawn.
My thoughts and prayers are with Chris and his family.

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into fading night?
You’d better slow down, don’t dance so fast.
Time is short, the music won’t last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere,
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It’s like an unopened gift… thrown away.
Life is not a race, do take it slower.
Hear the music before the song is over…
I know Shawn through my sister, Adrian. They were really good friends and he was over a lot this past summer. He was such a nice guy, and so fun to be around. My last day in Richmond last July, before moving to Alabama, I saw Shawn for the very last time. He was working at Hunting Hawk and my friend and I were there golfing. I will never forget saying goodbye to him that day; not knowing it was the last time I'd see him......... Shawn is up there in heaven, right now, smiling down at us and watching over us. Shawn's an angel, he was when he was on earth, and he is now.
Rest In Peace~ SMB
We Love you!

Shawn, My Promise to You
I have loved you as if you were my own son, since the day you were born.
And now that I have a huge hole in my heart, the future without you seems like I will always mourn.
But I will try to remember only the joy, and thank God for the twenty years he shared you, my sweet boy.
I promise to always be there for Christopher, Mom and Dad.
We will make it through somehow; and with your love maybe we won't always be so sad.
Your smile and laughter will be missed, as well as your gentle touch and soft kiss.
We don't know the reasons why, as we all have been trying to say goodbye.
But you will always be a part of us forever, and with God's help we will all go on together,
Until we meet again.
Love, Auntie

The happiest day of my life was the day Shawn and Christopher were born! They WERE so very tiny(believe it or not!)but brought such GREAT joy!
It has been amazing to watch Shawn and Christopher grow and mature into fine young men-besides making me feel old, it makes me feel SO VERY PROUD! I am honored to be their Aunt! I love you both SO VERY MUCH!! I am deeply saddened by the loss of Shawn. I am going to miss him and his "short Aunt" comments, his quick wit and that contagious smile!
Christopher, I will be here for you ALWAYS!! A day will not go by that you are not in my heart, thoughts and prayers!! Keep the "short Aunt" comments coming, will ya!
Graham and Susan, all I can say is I am SO very sorry and that I love you! Also, thank you for Shawn and Christopher, the two BEST nephews in the whole world!!

Dear Bryant Family-
I am so terribly sorry to hear about your loss. I had the wonderful oppurtunity to work with your sons a few summers ago at Hunting Hawk and I just could never seem to get enough of either one of them. As everyone has said, Shawn's smile was contagious and would instantly lighten any dull moods. We would always have a lot of fun together at work and would goof off as much as we could get away with. You raised wonderful sons and it is such a tragedy that things happened the way they did.
To Chris, I know words are words and they can't turn back time, however, you are in my heart and prayers. I wish you strength and hope and if there is anything at all you need, you have my email. You guys were one of the only reasons that kept me going to work! And having you there made the day that much easier. I'm so sorry I didn't get to come visit you guys, and it's killing me to see now what a chance I have indeed missed. Again, I extend my utmost condolences, We will all miss him dearly, and I will never forget you or Shawn.
Bless you and your family

What's left to say after you say you're so sorry...or it should not have been...or asked why...After tears, after pain and emptiness? It's that you were here, you made a diffrence, you've left a testament, an albeit brief but solid memory for those you knew, and those who knew and loved you...
We've tucked you safely and snuggly into a warm corner of our hearts we'll often visit...
Susan, Graham, Christopher, Mike, and all the members of the most loving family we've had the privilege of ever knowing...
Trust that his smile will warm your souls again one day...That's a promise worth its weight in gold...and one that's guaranteed...
God will bless and comfort you,

We can think of the awesome times we had with Shawn and how many more fun times he's having right now up in heaven. He's probably wondering why everyone's so sad that he's gone. He'd want us to remember his life and his time with us. Let's do him that favor.

Graham, Christopher, Jennifer and Susan, Shawn is in the arms of a loving and caring God. He should be here in your arms, laughing and making the difference in people's lives that I witnessed these last few days. Your unbearable grief is a testimony to the love you feel for Shawn. I did not get to see Shawn or Christopher often but I will always remember spending this last Super Bowl Sunday with them at Graham and Jen's house. I will remember the happiness on Graham's face when Shawn and Christopher walked in to surprise their dad. It seems even more special an occasion to me now. They were all so happy. God Bless You All.

To the Bryant Family...
I did not know Shawn very well, but his name has been buzzing around in my house for quite sometime.
When I found out about Shawn's passing on Sunday it was to say the least, a shocking blow. I immediately called my dad, Eric Smith, and let him know because he was out of the sate on business. The shocking blow I had been sturck with transferred over the phone to my dad. After a few moments of silence to pull himself together, my dad simply said," What a fine young man he was! Shawn had a great outlook on life, wonderful manners,a caring personality, and was a person you just loved to be around." He went on to say that he was privileged to know Shawn and was honored to have been his boss at Hunting Hawk for a few years.
Unfortunately, my dad could not attend Shawn's funeral today, so I attended on his behalf. He offers his love and support to your family and especially to Chris. If there is anything my family can do for yours, please, do not hestitate to contact us.
All of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
God bless you.

Shawn Michael Bryant was like a brother to me. Times like these make me question what the motives of our Lord are, but I always fall back on the fact that he has a plan for each and every one of us. It was Shawn's time to go, and although it's one of the hardest things i've ever been through, he's got the best view in the house...looking down on us and keeping us safe. I'm grateful for the years that Shawn was in my life and I will forever hold on to the memories I share with him. All angels have wings...now's your time to fly, Shawn Michael.
