September 16, 1936 - May 1, 2025
Duffer, Shirley M., of Chesterfield, died peacefully, at the age of 88, on May 1, 2025. She is now free of pain and suffering, and is resting eternally with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Shirley was born in Charlotte County, VA to Ervin T. Melton and Zula G. McGee, who both preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Duffer and her brother, Ervin T. Melton, Jr. She is survived by her two daughters, Zula Aileen Yeatts (George) and Rita F. Bostic (Brian); four grandchildren, Jeremy Yeatts (Colette), Rachel Yeatts (Chris), Rebecca N. "Nikki" Malone (Ryan) and Thomas Bostic; one great-grandchild, Scarlette Yeatts; nieces and extended family.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2025, at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., with visitation one hour prior. Interment, Dale Memorial Park.

My heartfelt sympathies for your family in the loss of Ms. Shirley. She was a longtime client with a very, very special place in my heart. I will miss our shared meal meetings. I know how much she loved her BLT sandwich. I'm sad i missed her service.
