BANAZEK, Stanley, Jr., It is with great sadness that the family of Stanley Banazek Jr. announces his passing on December 7, 2022. Stanley was born in Syracuse, New York on December 25, 1938, to Stanley Banaszek Sr. and Irene (Korycinski). Stanley grew up in the Syracuse neighborhood of Eastwood. After finishing high school, he went on to study business and graduate from Syracuse University. While at SU, he was an a accomplished golfer and proud to be a member of the golf team with his brothers, Art and Bill. Following his graduation from SU, Stanley traveled the country as a sales representative for Roadway Trucking Co. Eventually, he left Roadway, starting his own business, B & W Chemical Sales, where he worked tirelessly running this company until he retired in 1994. In 1966, Stanley moved to Westvale with his first wife. They raised their children here and he remained a member of this community for 55 years. Stanley married Jeanne (Tolhurst) in 1985. Stanley and Jeanne called Westvale home until last year, when they moved to Lucy Corr Independent Living in Chesterfield, Virginia. Stanley was predeceased by his parents; sister-in-law, Nancy (Art); his infant son, John; and his stepchildren, Karen and Christopher. Stanley will be deeply missed by his wife of 37 years, Jeanne; his brothers, Art and Billy (Peggy); and sisters, Karin Thomas (Dick) and Denise Erwin (Tim); as well as his four children, Lori Beer (Bryan), PJ (Jen), Shelly Fuller (Dean), Timmy (Talley); his stepdaughter, Carla Wilkins (Michael); and 11 grandchildren, Nicole, Eric, Matthew, Joel, Laurann, Austin, Drew, Grace, Lyndsey, Brooke, Kate; and his many nieces and nephews. Stanley will be remembered for his sense of humor, commitment to education and his love of golf and baseball. Most importantly, he will be remembered for his devotion to his wife, children, grandchildren and family. He and his wife, Jeanne also gave a warm and loving home to the many four-legged friends they rescued over the years. Stanley's children would like to recognize and thank the many friends their father made over the years at Burnett Park Golf Course, too many to name. Stanley spent countless hours there in his retirement and loved to talk with and get to know the many young adults who spent their summers working there. Stanley was particularly proud of, and helped encourage and support, one young man's acceptance to West Point Military Academy. We also wish to thank Stanley's Westvale neighbors, Sue and Joe Hanyak, who looked out for him with love and care for several years. Their friendship provided him great joy and brought his children peace of mind as the years passed. We extend a sincere thank you to the Chesterfield Virginia Emergency Medical Services for their skilled and compassionate response to Stanley. Lastly, we thank the staff at Lucy Corr and their father's recent medical care provider in Virginia, Meghan Caravas, PA-C and her nurse. They always treated Stanley with great respect and skill, demonstrated amazing compassion and offered kind patience to him over the last 14 months. A Catholic Mass to honor Stanley's life is scheduled for December 15 at 11 a.m. at the Transfiguration of our Lord Parish located on 740 Teall Avenue, Syracuse, N.Y.
