Steven Turner Obituary

TURNER, Steven Thomas, 78, died on Monday, December 28, 2020. Steve was born on June 2, 1942, in Richmond, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Hodges Turner; and his beloved wife of 50 years, Karen Manuel Turner. He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Gilmartin and her husband, Steve (Henrico, Virginia); his son, Stephen "Scott" Turner and wife, Laura (Parkland, Florida); and his five grandchildren, Riley Banton, husband, Matt and their expected baby (Henrico, Virginia), Nolan and Brooks Gilmartin (Henrico, Virginia), Jacob and Dillon Turner (Parkland, Florida). Steve graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, where he enjoyed participating in the cadet program. During high school he met his wife-to-be, Karen. Steve and Karen moved to Brighton Green, where they were original owners and raised their two children, Wendy and Scott. Steve was an architect retiring from the Mosely Group. He helped design many schools including the high school his children attended and the school where his daughter currently works. Steve enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, building and repairing things. He also enjoyed model train sets and wood working. Steve was known for being able to fix anything, from cars to appliances, to anything and everything around the house. He had a knack for finding ways to make things work efficiently. He was a real life "Superman" to his family and will be dearly missed. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
