Susan Ellett Obituary
Susan Thurmond Ellett, 62, of King William, VA, was called to her Heavenly Home on May 12, 2025. She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Thurmond; her nephew, Aaron Williams; and her brothers-in-law, Dan and Jerry Ellett. Susan is survived by her husband of 27 years, Jimmy Ellett; mother, Linda Thurmond; sisters, Karen Williams (Jimmy) and Jane Thurmond; brother, John Harnest (Jeannie); brothers-in-law, David (Sass) Ellett and David Majors; sister-in-law, Debbie Ellett; children, Mandy Glover (Kris), C.J. Stallings, Michelle Hunt (Dustin), Dylan Ellett (Mackenzie), and Sean Ellett; grandchildren, Aniya and Imery Glover, Trenton and Trevor Stallings, Layla and Jenna Ellett, and Heidi Hunt; and children by heart, Michael Grider, Courtney Fuentes, and Malakai Fuentes. Susan was born on September 4, 1962, in Tazewell, VA. She served as a tax manager, beloved wife and mother, and faithful child of God. Susan enjoyed time with family, sun and sand, serving at church, caring for neighborhood wildlife, expressing her creative side, and making occasions both memorable and meaningful. She will be remembered for her natural inclination to prioritize the needs of others, for her ability to recognize and support the unique strengths of those around her, and for the way she effortlessly made others feel welcome and unconditionally loved. Her legacy of love and nurture will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed enough to know her.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m., on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Sharon Baptist Church, 901 Sharon Road, King William, VA 23086. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local food bank.

Susan was salt of the earth. Her whole family is.. it was always fun to head across the street to their family gatherings and parties. Her aunts and uncles were hilarious. Susan was the best mom and care giver. She always loved up our kids and took such good care of them. She will be sooooo missed. I really loved her! Heaven has a great one and I'm sure she's so exhilarated at her reunion with family and loved ones. She can run and jump and play again! God be praised for our loved ones that have gone on before us and Lord, please be merciful to us all during our final hours.
