Timothy Cramer Obituary

Col. Timothy James Cramer, CAP, 57, of Mechanicsville, Va., died Tuesday, July 13, 2004 after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Marcia; daughter, Erin Long and her husband, Roy of Bellefonte, Pa.; son, Daniel of Mechanicsville; his mother, Margaret Cramer of East Pittsburgh, Pa.; brother, Robert and his wife, Karen; sisters, Susan Stamford and her husband, Larry, all of North Huntingdon, Pa. and Carol Creighton and her husband, Allen of Turtle Creek, Pa.; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Cramer. He served in the U.S. Army before attending Penn State University and received his MBA from Western New England College. He was a licensed Amateur Radio Operator, W1YW, and a member of the ARRL for over 20 years. He earned a private pilots license while working at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks, Conn. Col. Cramer is the current Virginia Wing Commander for the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol. He also served as Group Commander in the Massachusetts and North Carolina Wings. He was the 2003 Past Master of Temple Lodge No. 9 A.F. & A.M. The family will receive friends Thursday (today) from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Masonic Memorial Services will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2004 at the Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church. The U.S. Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol Honor Guard will be providing military honors. Private graveside services will be held in Braddock, Pa. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to Virginia Wing Civil Air Patrol, 7401 Airfield Dr., Richmond, Va. 23237 or the Scottish Rite Childhood Language Center, 4202 Hermitage Rd., Richmond, Va. 23227.
