Wilbert W. "Bunny" Tomlin

Wilbert W. "Bunny" Tomlin, 83, of Aylett, VA, passed away at Memorial Regional Medical Center, Wednesday, December 24, 2025. He was born in Albemarle County, VA October 5, 1942, to the late John William Tomlin and Mary Lee Shifflett Tomlin.

Wilbert served his country in the United States Navy as a boiler man from 1962-1965. He worked for Phillip Morris USA for nearly 30 years as a sheet metal mechanic before his retirement. He loved his family and golfing. He never knew a stranger and was always willing to give a helping hand.

Wilbert was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years; Linda Hicks Tomlin, his parents; and his siblings; John Nathaniel "Pete" Tomlin, Eleanor Tomlin, and Martha Vernell Duling.

He is survived by two daughters; Sandra G. Helmick (Shaun) and Cheryl T. James (Lee); eight grandchildren, Wesley (Samantha), Brooke (Phillip), Amanda (Matt), Joshua, David, Nikki, Ashley, and Cameron; four great grandchildren; Oliver, Kairi, Phillip, Jr., and Soren; "adopted daughter", Tracy Steveson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026. Burial will be private at Signal Hill Memorial Park in Hanover, VA.
