William Moore Obituary
William Neal Moore
November 8, 1982 - April 22, 2025
William Neal Moore of Richmond, Va., shed his mortal suffering on April 22 at the age of 42. Neal was an adventurer at heart, a guitar-playing artist and photographer with a philosophical mind and a penchant for the dramatic. His adventurous nature developed during his uncommonly feral childhood, as his home was often the gathering place for the magic and mischief of the neighborhood kids' tomfoolery.
The friendships Neal forged during those years lasted decades, and he pursued as many shenanigans as possible with them until his dying day. Sometimes, trouble was found along the way, but that only made the stories more epic. He maintained lifelong relationships, consistently welcoming new friends along the way, and held them in his heart right alongside his family. When Neal loved you, you knew it, and he had a lot of love to give. He received it in equal amounts.
Adventures and misadventures were the mainstay of Neal's life, and he enjoyed much of the ride, despite the many health struggles he had over the years. He earned a degree in International Relations from Virginia Commonwealth University and was a certified English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher. Neal had many professional ventures. He tended to a cannabis farm in Colorado, lived in Mexico City teaching English to native Spanish speakers, negotiated consumer credit, acted as the superintendent for an apartment complex, and worked at Camp David.
A lifelong animal lover, Neal repeatedly adopted elderly dogs from shelters so their lives could see a happy, comfortable denouement. While Neal's life sadly saw its denouement far too soon, he made the most of the time and circumstances he had. He lived and died surrounded by loved ones, and he will be missed by many.
Neal is survived by mother, Pamela Moore; sisters, Jessica Yerkic (husband Miro) and Lindsey Moore; niece and nephews, Gabi, Oliver, and Luka Yerkic; cousin, Ryland Singleton (wife Caitlyn); grandmother, Phyllis Talley; aunt and uncle, Debbie Parenteau (husband Robert) and Billy Talley; and "other mother", Shannon Fisher. He was preceded in death by father, Dale Moore; uncle, Steve Moore; and grandparents, Wilma and Shelton "Skeets" Moore. A private wake was held at Penny Lane Pub. If you wish to honor Neal with a gift, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in his name.
