Charles Lee (Chuck) Moberly, 89, of Hillsboro, OH, and formerly of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
Charles was born on Oct. 14, 1935, in Dayton, Ohio. Charles was the sixth-born to a family of 10. Charles graduated from John Patterson Cooperative High School in 1954.
On Nov. 3, 1956, Charles married Mary Ellen Wheeler, whom he met at NCR in Dayton, OH. Charles then went on to become a City of Dayton Police officer from November 1959 to December 1987. "Chuck" loved his job and was proud to serve his community. In 1995, Charlie and Mary moved to Hillsboro, where they made many new friends and loved their new town.
Surviving are daughter, Kimberly Jaynes, of Dayton, two grandsons, Tony (Larissa) and Charles (Sarah) Jaynes, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary; parents, John and Pansy (Tipton) Moberly.
A funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 15, at 11 a.m. The service will be held at the Miami Valley Memory Gardens Chapel, Centerville, OH. Burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, please give to a needy family or a family charity. Or give flowers to someone you love.
There will be a gathering/sharing and food at the John C. Post FOP Lodge in Huber Heights to follow.
