Donna Kay Trefz, 70, of Greenfield, died at 12:33 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at the Ohio State University James Cancer Center, Columbus.
She was born on Sunday, Nov. 12, 1950, in Greenfield, a daughter of the late Harry R. and Hazel L. Jinks Ross.
On Oct. 17, 1970, she married Terry Trefz and they shared more than 50 years together.
She is survived by her husband, Terry; their two daughters, Rachelle Trefz and her fiancé, Tommy McCoy, of Washington C.H. and Valerie Fath of Greenfield; one granddaughter, Jaylie Fath of Greenfield; her two brothers, Larry Ross of South Salem and Roger (Angie) Ross of Greenfield; three brothers-in-law, Bob (Margie) Trefz of Lyndon, Leon Trefz of Greenfield and Larry Joe (Erma) Trefz of Holiday, Florida; one sister-in-law, Tonya Trefz; two nieces, Ashley and Samantha Ross; and one nephew, Jesse Ross.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, John Trefz; and one sister-in-law, Mary Jo Trefz.
Donna was a 1969 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School. She had worked at Hills and Dales for several years and as a sales lady at her daughter's Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio, but her proudest accomplishment was that of being a homemaker, wife, mom and grandmother to Jaylie.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14 at the Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home, Greenfield, with Scott Latimer officiating. Following the service, Donna will be laid to rest in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Family and friends may visit with her family at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. to the time of the service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959; or New Directions Youth Ministry, 910 N Fifth St., Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
