Doris Geraldine Rhoades, 86, of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 5, 1929 in Dodsonville, the daughter of the late Norman Robert and Mary Grace (Shaffer) Mason.
Mrs. Rhoades worked at the Ritz Café in Lynchburg for 25 years and enjoyed playing bingo.
She is survived by three children, Bette Ursell of Highland, William Wilkin of Lynchburg and Jo Ellen Minzler of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, Andrea (Brian) Stanley of Hillsboro, Brian Ursell of Columbus, Kendra Rhoades of Kettering, Dustin Hilliard of Lynchburg and Anna Evans of Virginia; two great-grandchildren, Mason Stanley of Hillsboro and Liam Thurn of Kettering; one sister, Namoi Creditt of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin "Dusty" Rhoades; two brothers, Tom and Eldon Mason; a son-in-law, William Ursell; a daughter-in-law, Diane Wilkin and a grandchild, Gregory Evans.
There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Because He Lives Food Pantry, P.O. Box 877, Lynchburg, Ohio 45142.
