James Dale Oyer, 75, of Greenfield, Ohio passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at home.
He was born July 24, 1946, in Washington C.H., Ohio, the son of Joseph and Mary (Hudnell) Oyer.
James was a former employee at Collins Meat Packing and an auxiliary police officer in Greenfield. He was a member of FOE 1325 of Greenfield.
He is survived by his wife, Norma (Gragg) Oyer, whom he married on Feb. 1, 1975; two sons, Matthew (Jill) Beedy of Grove City and Jeremiah James (Misty) Oyer of Greenfield; two daughters, Jami (Arthur) Rigsby of Leesburg and Brandy Oyer (Ritchey Davy) of Greenfield; eight grandchildren, Rebecca, Shi'anne, Bradley, C.J., Sierra, Sebastian, Joey (Ciara) and Amy; five great-grandchildren, Greyson, Ellianna, Emery, Carter and Samson; one brother, Ronald Oyer of Michigan; four sisters, Bobbie Smith of Washington C.H., Sharon (Junior) Smith of North Carolina, Robin (Roger) Taylor of Washington C.H. and Linda Oyer of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Hugh "Diz" Oyer, Joseph Oyer and Timothy Oyer; three sisters, Margie Hodge, Joann Oyer and Carolyn Oyer; one brother-in-law, Tom Smith; and both parents.
Funeral service will be at noon Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with the Rev. Wayne Combs and the Rev. Ken Burchett officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 26 at the funeral home.
