Charles Maynard Obituary
Charles Maynard, chairman of the Free National Movement died August 14, 2012, in the early morning in Abaco, Bahamas.
Maynard was the former Minister of Parliament for Golden Isles and the Minister of Youth, Sports & Culture. At the time of his death he was serving as the coordinator of the North Abaco by-election campaign.
Charles Maynard was born in Nassau and is the son of Andrew (Dud) and Isadora Maynard.

We were deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the death of our friend and Brother The Hon. Charles Maynard on the 14th of August. We would like to extend our sincerest condolences to his family,friends and his colleagues.
We were very fortunate to have worked with Charles during the last General Elections and we warmly remember his enthusiastic and skillful support to the champaign. He was a very kind person who was always willing to give his time and knowledge with a smile.
We are deeply saddened that we will not have him around us anymore.
The Executives and Members of the Fort Charlotte Free National Movement Association extends sincere heartfelt condolences.

Please accept my condolences on the death of this Giant of a man The Hon. Charles Maynard. It was a shock to hear of his passing at such a young age. I know mere words may offer but little comfort at this tragic time, but know that my prayers and deepest feelings of sympathy lie with you and your entire family.
The measure of a life well-lived is not in how much money one has or what possessions they have accumulated, but rather through the lives they touched and the sorrow they leave behind. If the outpouring of sympathy on his loss is any indication, and it most certainly is, you can proudly and confidently say that his indeed was a life well-lived.
I pray you find peace and comfort in knowing that his loss is felt by all who knew and loved him.
May his soul R.I.P....Charles Maynard.......Gone too soon, but never will be forgotten.

We were able to connect in Cayman for Carifta and in Jamaica, the students at Northern Caribbean University were allowed to come to Carifta with the sponsorship of the government thru Mr Maynard. As a Maynard girl, I am very proud of the contributions that my cousin brought not only to his party but indeed to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Charles was truly a "Maynard". We strive to be and do the best, no matter what paths we choose. As I read the headlines and hear the news reports of the type of person Charles was, as well as the impact he left on others I am thankful to God for having a family member like him. To God be the glory, for the great things he has done. My condolences to uncle Andrew, aunt Isadora, Zelena and the girls. Love you all and we will meet Charles again.

The sudden death of a loved one is so hard to bear because it's such a shock to the mourners. There is no time to prepare, to deal with unfinished business or to say goodbye.
You were one of the few who took interest in my very first project when I moved back home . Make em' Listen was about promoting young people and providing a platform and you assited when I called .. I told you thank you many times over so you knew how I felt and I so appreciate the opportunity the Ministry of youth afforded me at that time.. i was equally happy that my daughter ws able to make a courtesy call on you while minister when she was crowned Little Miss Petite Bahamas..R.I.P I will neber forget you .

You showed concern and displayed love beyond your call as a Representative, but you were my cousin by inheritance because my mother adopted you and fell in love with you from the day she met you, you were her nephew who she showed relentless support and encourgement. She loved the fact that you called her "Aunty"....Even little 242 is sadden by your sudden demise.
