Nicholas Cavalier Obituary

Nicholas Vincent Cavalier, Sr., 85, of Conshohocken, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mansfield, OH on January 9, 1929 to the late Vincent and Rose (Travaline) Cavalier. Nick was a graduate of Conshohocken High School class of 1947. He was employed by Alan Wood Steel Co. of Conshohocken until its closing, and then worked for Moore Products in Spring House in the maintenance department. He was a devoted member of SS. Cosmas and Damian Church where he served with various organizations; he was also an altar server for daily mass and was a sacristan. He enjoyed playing bocce ball, horseshoes, and bowling. He is survived by his companion of 29 years Helen Smith of Trumbrauersville, PA, his children Cynthia DiDato and husband Darrell of Mechanicsburg, PA, Denise Raymond and husband Daniel of Perkasie, PA, Nicholas V. Cavalier, Jr. of Conshohocken, PA, 4 grandchildren Andrew, Christian, Nicholas and Jake, 4 step-grandchildren Molly, Christine, Daniel and Nicholas, and many cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at SS. Cosmas and Damian Church, 209 W. 5th Ave., Conshohocken. The Viewing will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at Church. Interment in St. Matthew Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nick's name can be sent to Einstein Hospice, 559 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown, PA 19403 or in the form of Mass Cards. The Cavalier family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who treated Nick at Einstein Medical Center, thank you again. Thank you everyone for your kindness. I have never felt so much love and respect for anyone as I did for for my father throughout this week. He was so loved and will be missed but I know he is with God, words cannot explain how I feel inside and the peace I have knowing this. God Bless you all.
