Dear Rusty,
I spoke with Uncle Jimmy on his birthday and he sounded like he did when I was young. His spirit was ageless and I will always have wonderful memories of our early years. My prayers are with you. I wish I were with Mom and Joanie at the service. My heart will be there.
Love, Ginny

Rusty;
Your Dad was "Uncle Jim" to me. Since I was a little boy, he was always my "Uncle Jim." I remember him best on Christmas Day. Every year, our families would get together. Your family would come to our house, or all of us would go over to your house for the day. I would always look forward to see you, Nancy, Auntie Sissy, and Uncle Jim. We had great times back then. I will always remember his great smile and the sparkle in his eyes. I rememeber everytime I would see him, he would always start by saying,"Hey Eddie Boy, how ya doing?"
My thought and prayers are with you.

Rusty, we went to high school together. I was sorry to hear about your dad, but I'm glad he got to live a good, long life! My dad is 94 and still in Vallejo. How lucky we are to have had them this long in our lives. My condolences.

Rusty, Karen, "Uncle" Bill, Oh, I have such great memories of Uncle Jim. As a little girl my cousin Nancy was my very, very best friend. I spent so much time at the McManus'. Uncle Jim made the best pancakes in the world. He was always so good to me.I remember endless days as a child sitting in his burger shop on Sonoma Blvd "helping him" by filling napkin dispensers and washing burger baskets. A couple of years ago I stopped by to visit and he met me at the door with a mop in hand, cleaning up, getting ready for Rusty to visit and see a Vallejo High football game. He always kept a tidy organized home - even in his 90's. All my life he welcomed me with "Well Bobby, come in, sit down, how are you doing?" Uncle Jim was a good man!

Grandpa Mac- You will be greatly missed by so many people. You taught me so much throughout the years; strength, dignity, independence, and most important, perservance and hope. I learned how to kick a field goal in the front yard of your home, how to make "Mac Spaghetti", how to enjoy a sleepover in the backyard, and how to paint a house. Your motto.. If you want it done right, do it yourself.. is something I've shared with my own boys often. You've always been the strongest man I know. Our 49ers will return to the glory days soon - I love you, RIP.

We are sorry to hear of Mac's passing and already missed him when he moved. He was a great neighbor and it was an honor and a pleasure to live next door for nearly the last 3 years. He was generous, funny and friendly (without ever being nosy!) We hope we made his last years in his home as much a joy to him as he brought to all of us.
