Sending love to all of you. I´m sure your parents had a glorious reunion and are happy to be together again.
Kent was always kind and came to practice with Arv when he really needed him. They had many good years together.

My fondest memory is when I was a young child and we took our pets to be seen and how tender and kind he was when he explained that it was time for them to return home to Heavenly Father. That was my first experience with saying goodbye to a pet. His conviction that we would see our pets again, has helped me through your my life as I have said tender Farewell´s to my parents, grandparents and beloved friends.
What a sweet example of Christ like service he has been in my life!

One day Kent was talking about the young men he grew up with in Salem. Salem was a very small town in those days...their only elementary school had less than 100 students total in all the grades.
He grew up with 14-15 boys in his age group. These young men grew up and many served missions, all were leaders in bishoprics and stake presidencies and even mission presidents. He was so proud of them and was one day "bragging" about how much they had accomplished even though they came from such a small town.
As he paused, Diann said "Don´t you think maybe they were so successful because they married Good Girls?"

Shortly after Kent was called as the Napa Stake President in 1984 (he was called by a new Apostle named Russell M Nelson), we would be in presidency meeting during the week. Often these meetings would run late and of course it was at least a half hour drive from our homes in Vallejo to the stake center in Napa.
One night it was after midnight and Marla got a call from Diann. She said, "Should we be getting worried yet?"
Needless to say after that meeting it was "strongly recommended" that our meetings had a beginning and an ending time to avoid late night finishes!

We loved his berry pies. We would hide them so our boys wouldn´t eat them all up.
He started out making a handful...but the demand became so high that he started making 30-40! Berry season was anticipated like Christmas for adults!

Kent was my veterinarian and friend. He was always so kind. One time my dog had an emergency and Kent invited me to come to his house to look after her.
He truly was a man of God. I'm sure there was a joyous reunion in heaven for all who have passed before and I and others will look forward to seeing him in the next life. God be with you Kent

We remember that Kent loved to go to basketball games, especially when our son Scott played for Vallejo and Solana College. He would cheer the team and in exciting moments when our Scott excelled he would jump up and yell, "Way to go Scotty" and had that amazing smile on his face.
Great memories
