Lorraine Violet Luce

July 24, 1932 - Feb. 19, 2005

Lorraine Luce, 72, made her transition peacefully at Dominican Hospital on February 19 at 4 p.m. with her family at her side. A native of Newport, Rhode Island, Lorraine lived most of her life as a loving and devoted wife and mother in Vallejo.

At the time of her passing, she was deeply beloved by her husband, Robert, her three children and two grandchildren, as well as many friends and the community whose lives she touched during her active, vital time on Earth. Always a resource and guiding light to those around her, she was truly the embodiment of the ideals of love, service and compassion. A committed partner in love to Robert for 54 years, she also gave her time and energy tirelessly to St. Vincent High School in Vallejo. Later, upon moving to Aptos, she and her husband worked for many years as innkeepers in Carmel. She continually touched many lives with her energy and grace along the way. Lorraine enjoyed spending her time sewing, gardening, entertaining and spending time with family and friends.

Forever in their hearts, she leaves behind her husband, Robert, in Aptos; sons, David from Reno, Nevada, and Gary from Palm Springs, Calif.; as well as a daughter, Renee Pryor, and son-in-law, Bill Pryor. Survivors also include granddaughter Lauren Pryor and grandson Jonathan Pryor, as well as Larry Hoover of Palm Springs, Calif.

Lorraine¹s life, lived in love, will be celebrated during a memorial service at Skyview Memorial Lawn, Vallejo, on Friday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m.
