Loyce Mae Scruggs, affectionately known as "Red," 69, of Vallejo, passed away Saturday at Sutter Solano Medical Center in Vallejo. She was born in Baton Rouge, La.
Loyce was employed at Napa State Hospital as a psychiatric technician for three years and worked as a beautician for many years.
A member of Second Baptist Church, she enjoyed entertaining, cooking and playing dominos.
"Red" is preceded in death by her son, Ricardo Bell.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, James Scruggs of Silver Springs, Md.; daughter, Jonnetta Scruggs of Vallejo; sons, LaMarr Scruggs of Vallejo and Johnny Scruggs of Illinois; brother, Lloyd Franklin of Vallejo; grandchildren, Lakendra, Barbara, Keynetta, Keven and Kross; great-grandchildren, Raheem, Johnathan, Zurrie, Janiya, DeAndre, Jayon and Kevion.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, with services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, both at Wiggins-Knipp Funeral Home, 524 Capitol St., Vallejo. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Cemetery, 2201 Sacramento St., Vallejo.

Well I know she in the best hands with GOD and all the family thats gone to make a better place for all of us. This is very hard for me Loyce was friends with my mother and she alway look out for me and thier together again this is still new to me. Loyce is in all our hearts everyday that goes by and we just have to take a minute at a time because we all walking and talking with the lord. My deepest prayers to all.
