Simon Nelson Obituary
Elder Simon C. Nelson, Sr., 88, of Vallejo passed away on Tuesday, May 30, at Kaiser Hospital Vallejo. A native of Stroud, OK. Elder Nelson served as Pastor of Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church for over 30 years.
Visitation will be held on Friday June 9 from 5 to 8 p.m., at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church, 501 Tregaskis St., Vallejo. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 10, at 11 a.m., at Old Path COGIC, 500 Arkansas St., Vallejo, with Elder Herman Peterson, officiating. Burial will follow at Skyview Memorial Lawn, 200 Rollingwood Drive, Vallejo.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Alta Vista Cremation & Funeral Services 901 Main St., Suisun 707-421-0100. Director - John Pepper.

Dear Papa: I love you so much to the bottom of my heart. When you left it felt like a part of me left too. Because you were just my road dog and you always were there for me and at all of my events. And you took me many places whenever I needed you too and you were just good Papa. I know you had a lot of grandkids but we were still bonded. I will always be a Nelson and your granddaughter. Rest easy Papa you are now with Grandma and your father the Lord, because that is where you always wanted to be. I am so hurt that I didn't really get to say goodbye, it was so hard for me seeing you like that. But it's okay because you're resting now, but it's just sad that you left us. But just know Papa I love you and I will keep the love alive between me, my dad and siblings. I am really going to miss watching the Western Cowboy movies and TV shows with you. I will forever be grateful and honored that Rev.Nelson Married me and my husband on 08/14/2010 and we are still together until this day. He also was Good friends with my dad Archie Lee Jackson and He was honored to officiate my dads service on 12/09/2016. He told me that if I needed anything or just to talk don't hesitate to call. We gonna miss you grandpa, you were loved by many family and friends, glad and proud to be one of many of your grandkids, you live a good life, with dedication to your ministry, this will stick with me always when you said God has been good to you, I really believe that. Smile down on all of the family and friends, you will be missed but not forgotten, you did your part, being a servant of God, not fainting, but fighting the good fight of faith. I didnt get to see grandpa alot growing up but when I finally did as I got older he would always stop by my job just to talk and say hi he would always talk about his kids, grand kids , and great grand kids he would have my coworkers and I laughing all the time

My name is Dimetrious Bennett jr this is my great grandfather I got close to him these last couple of years really never knew him but when I did finally meet around the age of 22 I'm 26 now and every time I visited him at his house we talk about life and God and he would always say he going home one day and I knew he was talking about heaven and he always seem very healthy and was healthy and very humble I just wish he could of met my daughter Alaysia Bennett and I do miss him very much and love him.
