Bernadine Burry Obituary

Bernadine Frances Burry, 83, a resident of Wyoming, passed peacefully into eternal life in the evening hours of Friday, Oct. 3, 2025.

Born July 29, 1942, in Wilkes-Barre, Bernadine was one of five children and the beloved oldest daughter of the late Peter Burry Sr. and Helen Kozerski Burry.

Raised in Wyoming, Bernadine was a graduate of the former Wyoming Memorial High School, Class of 1960, where she was the proud recipient of the Betty Crocker Award.

Following high school, Bernadine began a career in the textile industry, working for many years as a skilled garment maker — her dedication to her craft allowed her to master the art of sewing, design and fine detail work. Later, she joined Renal Consultants, Wilkes-Barre, working there for over 20 years until her retirement — here, she provided compassionate assistance to patients and their families, and her kindness and dependability were valued by all who knew her.

After her formal retirement, Bernadine continued to share her talents and creativity by offering alteration services from her home, specializing in wedding gowns, prom dresses and other garments. She took pride in helping others look and feel their best, a true reflection of her generous and caring nature.

A woman of strong faith, Bernadine was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne.

In addition to her parents, Peter and Helen, Bernadine was preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley Burry and Peter Burry Jr.; and her sister-in-law, Debra Schneiderhan Burry.

Left to lovingly cherish her memory are her devoted siblings, Barbara Kopko and her husband, Jack, Lake Township, and Robert Burry Sr., Wyoming; her loving nieces and nephews, Tamara Kopko, a Goddaughter residing in New York City; Robert Burry Jr. and his wife, Billie Jean; JJ Kopko and his wife, Christina, residing in Delmar, California; Christa Scott and her husband, Craig; Jennifer Cahill, a Goddaughter, and her husband, Charles; Kathy Kopko; and Krisi Kopko; her cherished great-nieces and great-nephews, Seamus Cahill, Liam Kopko, Debbie Scott, Petty Officer 2nd Class Ethan Scott, U.S. Navy, Noah Cusatis, Katie, Robert III, Aiden, Hunter, Maia, Isabella, Julia, Elizabeth and Madeline Burry.

All who knew and loved Bernadine were touched by her warmth, strength and caring devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. May her memory be eternal, and may she, now and forevermore, rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bernadine's viewing which will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, where Funeral Services will begin at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Parish, 574 Bennett St., Luzerne, with Monsignor David L. Tressler, her pastor, officiating.
