Dean Jason Christopher Gray, 24, passed from this world suddenly and much too early on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019.
Dean was born in Philadelphia on Aug. 11, 1994, to John J. Gray and Mary Barberio Conrad. Dean was a talented musician and songwriter. He had a cutting sense of humor and a sharp intellect. His stepfather, Christopher, taught and started him on playing guitar and writing songs.
Dean loved the Lord Jesus, popular culture, sports (GO EAGLES!), music, good food, his family, his friends and his cat, Jinxy. Dean was raised by and counted on his grandmother, "Ma," as much as his own mother.
Dean is survived by his parents, John and Mary; his sister, Ava; his stepfather, Christopher Conrad; his grandparents, Jane and the late Joseph P. Barberio, Philomena and the late Louis J. Conrad, all of Wilkes-Barre, and Doris Levin, of Philadelphia and New Jersey.
You are out of pain now and at peace, sweet boy. This will never be goodbye, but until we meet again.
A memorial for Dean will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre.

Sadly I did not personally know Dean, nor did he know me. However I have many fond memories of Dean's Stepfather Chris, his brothers Tom and Tim, and mother Philomena. The Conrads are an enormously creative family, loving and full of a joy for life. I have no doubt beautiful Dean is keeping you all safe and in good spirits as you live out your lives as best you all can, until one day you are all together again.

Dean I will never forget you. You were the little red head boy next door always funny and polite I will always remember you and Bailey outside laughing and playing. I hope you find the peace you were searching for. May God keep your family close to his heart. You will never be forgotten

Dean's kindness, intelligence and humor are a great loss, but there can be no doubt he leaves a legacy of love. All who knew him are better for it. Till we are all together again.

Dean. We only had the chance to hang out on a few occasions as I was a friend of your father's. Those few times though you added life to your dad and his tattooed tough guy friends. It was different for us having a kid around. You made us laugh and brought us joy and I suspect you did the same for everyone you met.

One of my saddest day was when Mark graduated, & my basement became empty. No longer filled with teenagers, who had become grown ups. I only gave birth to one child, but through him my home was filled with many children...in my heart you were all my kids' and always in my heart and prayers. I loved the laughter, music, & food. I loved cooking for all of you. I loved Dean's voice. You all played well together.
Though, I have not seen you since then, I am truly heartbroken that your life was cut short... you had so much to give. Prayer for you and your family. May God fold you in his arms... and may your voice and music join Heaven's choir.

Dean, I've loved you since you were a baby, I love you now and I'll always love you as long as I'm on this Earth. I know we will meet again soon and I'll tell you how much you were missed and how much everyone loved you. I never knew you had so many friends and that Mommy had so many friends that would love and support her through this tragic time. You will always be my sweet boy. ❤

Man dean I'm still at loss for words! A million emotions go threw my head daily since you left.. Mad , sad, pissed ,confused but honestly my biggest emotion is GRATEFUL... GRATEFUL that i got to know you these last couple of years and become close. You always had a smile on your face and that laugh was one of a kind. I'm glad you got to see your eagles win the super bowl....(even if that was my worse nightmare). We were so excited for the football season to start, literally every time we talked we counted the days intill kickoff!!! Even stayed up all night when Madden 20 came out at midnight. You don't know how many times I go to text you with football news or to just hang out... This really sucks but like I said I'm so grateful for the times we had... R.i .p my brother!!! Please watch over your family and give them the strength they need !!!

Dean, I don't know how we'll go on without you. You are always the first person I want to call or text when something funny happens- or just to give you some news. You have been by my side since you came into my life and changed me forever. Even if you weren't my son, I would choose you over and over again as my friend. Your humor made my mind lighter daily. I was so sad we couldn't give you your cake and celebrate your birthday with you on Sunday- but we still wrote your cards out and sang for you. I am thankful to God for the time he blessed me with you on this Earth. Love has no end and my love for you will go on forever. I am certain you are at eternal peace and out of all physical pain and mental anguish now. This life is going to be so hard to get through without you. But as you wished me to and I promise you now, we will be together again. Mommy
