Edward M. Dula, 71, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away at home on Aug. 19, 2025.
Ed was raised in the Lynwood section of Hanover Township and graduated with the Hanover Class of 1972. A longtime resident of Plains Township, he also resided in East Fallowfield, Pa., for nearly two decades. More recently, he returned to the Wyoming Valley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and Edward J. Dula, of Shickshinny Lake; and his beloved brother, Jan.
Ed is survived by his wife, Karen Dula; and his children, Lauren Dula Miller, Samantha Dula and Lee Dula. He had three grandchildren, Cameron and Lilianna Dula and Silas Dula Miller, who brought him much joy. He is also survived by his sister, Denise (Dula) Newcomb (Clarence Newcomb), of Dallas, Pa.; and his brother, David Dula (Carole Dula), of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
Ed spent most of his life working in the trucking industry. He was an avid sports fan, especially rooting for the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Football. Ed was known for his love of dogs and animals, as well as his goofy sense of humor. He loved dressing as Santa Claus for his grandkids and children in the neighborhood. Ed especially valued the kindness of his friends and neighbors, as well as the warmth shown to him by the staff at the Scratch Kitchen, where he was a regular.
Private interment will be at the convenience of the family to honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, consider donating in his name to the SPCA of Luzerne County.

There´s not enough space here to share my fond memories of Ed. As kids growing up on busy west end road in Hanover Twp. Our small gang had so much fun. My condolences to Ed´s family and especially to Denise and David.

I remember Ed, David, Jan, and Denise and their parents living next door to my grandparents, the Butchers, in Lyndwood when we were all kids before the flood. Oddly enough, I was just thinking of them all the other day out of nowhere, and wondering where they all had ended up. It sounds as though Ed had a wonderful life filled with the love of family and friends. My condolences to the family upon his loss. May happy memories you comfort during this difficult time.
