Edward Mayka Obituary
MOUNTAIN TOP — Edward R. Mayka, 79, of Mountain Top, passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife Camille (Mudrak).
Son of the late Edward and Lillian (Morgan) Mayka, he was a graduate of Fairview Township High School and Penn State University. Long-time owner/operator of M&M Used Cars, Ed enjoyed fixing cars, working on #12 stock car at Evergreen and Pocono Raceways, watching Penn State and the Yankees, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving is a son, David Mayka (wife Delia), Katy Texas; daughters: Diane Nulton (husband Matthew), Shermans Dale, Camille Otto (husband William), Marysville, Danielle Godshall (husband Charles), Quakertown; sister, Linda Schwartz (husband James); brother, Thomas Mayka (wife Esther); grandchildren: Steph, Jeny, Kass, Isaac, Chris, and Logan; great-grandchildren: Mia, Izzy and David; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. at the Charles L. Cease Funeral Home, 634 Reyburn Road, Shickshinny, with a repast at Kings Restaurant in Mountain Top immediately following.
Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's memory to the American Lung Association.

I met Eddie this past summer while operating the Fireworks tent housed at M&M. Eddie was hospitable, and just down right cool. He was smart and humble and I valued his opinions. He would hang late at the garage, it made me feel safe knowing he was there. I adored Eddie. I looked up to him, and I couldn´t wait to see him next year. My deepest condolences to Tommy, Esther and the rest of Eddie´s loving family.

I worked for Eddie at M&M back in the 1980's. He was in the car business since the early 1960's, and never did retire. He was at the garage daily until a few days before he passed. Nearly 60 years in business, we can't help but admire him. We'll miss Eddy at M&M, as a fixture of the Mt. Top community. There was a time when every car on our street, had an M&M sticker on the trunk. Regards to his children, brother Tommy, sister, and family. RIP Ed.

I knew Ed for many years as I worked around repair centers in Mt Top and had interactions with Ed. I also helped a little bit on the #12 stock car which Ed was so proud of. May he RIP
