Mrs. Mayka was a great neighbor, whom I have known for over 52 years. Thanks for letting us play with your cats, even though we weren't supposed to, for letting us pick your boysenberries and look down your well. I will never forget the day you "baby sat" me as an adult when I was so sick. You made such a wonderful day for me just by being there, eating lunch with me, chatting and watching tv. You are a special lady, who will be missed.

Dear Ed and Tommy and families,

I was surprised and disappointed to hear of the passing of your Mom. I never had her as a teacher, but I remember her well. She must be the last teacher who remained of the staff at Fairview. God love her and comfort you all.
