DORRANCE TWP. — Eugene R. Fenstermacher, 90, of Dorrance Township, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at Providence Place, Drums, surrounded by his family.
Born in Dorrance Township on Aug. 28, 1927, he was the son of the late Harvey and Ruth (Moyer) Fenstermacher. He graduated from Newport High School and served in the U.S. Navy. After an honorable discharge, he was employed at Sandvik, and later at Eberhard Faber. Prior to retirement, he worked at Mideast Aluminum.
Gene was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mountain Top. He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, and in his younger years also trapped. He liked to relax while watching baseball games.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, May L. (Rinehimer) Fenstermacher, this past December, as well as his parents, and his sister, Lois Chapin.
He will be greatly missed by his children: Brent Fenstermacher and wife, Donna, of Mountain Top; Brenda Hagemo and husband, Lloyd, of Edina, Minn.; Dale Fenstermacher, of Sellersville; six cherished grandsons: Tyler, Erich, Damien, Nathan, Brian, and Alec; four adored great-grandchildren; brother Floyd "Nick" Fenstermacher; and many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Heller Funeral Home LLC, Nescopeck, is assisting his family.
