Eugene Quinn Obituary

VIENNA, Va. — Eugene T. Quinn Jr., of Vienna, Va., formerly of Lee Park section of Hanover Township, died on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.

Gene, the son of Eugene and Elizabeth Quinn, was beloved by his sisters, cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. He is survived by his eldest sister, Elizabeth Mayberry, of Bridgewater, N.J., and Irene Adams, of New Oxford.

Gene had a successful career as a civil engineer, loved to golf and play tennis, treasured his Corvette, and loved Kozy Shack chocolate pudding for dessert. Gene was an avid photographer like his Uncle Walter and captured the early years of his nephews Paul and Robert and nieces Carrie and Merrie. He joked with his cousins, Roxanne, Tracy and Lesha, as well as recollected the childhood memories with his Kelly cousins on Graham Avenue. His neighbors in Vienna looked forward to his annual cookouts and the Rounds pups couldn't wait for his treats.

Blessing service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 in St. Mary's Cemetery Chapel, Hanover Township, with a visitation from noon until time of service. Interment will follow.

Arrangements are being finalized under the care of the Lehman Family Funeral Service Inc., 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Visit www.LehmanFuneralHome.com for additional information.

Sincere condolences to the Quinn family. I was acquainted with the Quinn family through my aunt and uncle, Elizabeth and Martin Foy. Uncle Martin was the brother of Eugene's mother. May Eugene's soul rest in peace and may fond memories sustain the Quinn family in the days ahead.

Mr Gene is missed!! He loved politics and loved America, and displayed that pride at his home and on his person daily!! He enjoyed Vienna Inn hotdogs every Saturday, spent quality time with his friends and neighbors daily, shared his homemade German chocolate cake deliciousness on special occasions and always brought over special gifts like fresh corn on the cob or tomatoes when he visited the market. He had an interesting life and legacy and was a refreshingly authentic person. He studied, fought for and exposed issues that affected the public-at-large by successfully challenging traffic calibration systems that created driver safety issues and was sought after as an expert on similar issues nationwide. He legacy is indelible. We miss seeing his flag flying, his daily smile/wave/and chat, his perpetual porch and backroom light on letting us know he was around, and his simple and generous spirit. God bless Mr Gene. It was too soon and so unexpected. We wish we´d had the opportunity to walk over, say goodbye and let you know how much you were appreciated.
