I was his grandson, and he was a very cheerful, supporting, and funny man. He would give me big jars of quarters, worth about $70 each. Whenever we would walk into his apartment to see him, he would try to scare me. At one point, this guy, in his 90's might I add, was crouched on his hands and knees ready to jump up and scare me from behind his chair. He died 2 minutes before we got to see him again. Heartbreaking. Thoughts and love to all the others affected.

Mr. Walsh will always hold a place in our hearts. Our condolences to his children their families and your loss of a man who was a true inspiration. A role model.
We moved to Houston in the early 80's and when Mr. Walsh moved to work for the Houston Chronicle we would get together and it was usually on a Sunday and he would bring the Sunday paper hot off the press. Spaghetti Warehouse was a favorite. We weren't from Houston so the memories of getting together and being homesick was a bond we shared and kept us going.
We moved to Florida. Mr. Walsh back to Pa. When Mr. Walsh would visit family in Florida in later years a visit to a Florida swamp and cookout was a bucket list that we all enjoyed.
Love, strength, prayers for Mr. Walsh and his family.

Great guy! Funny, friendly and a great conversationalist. I remember the times we had together and all the laughs with friends and family. The best memory was when Fritz and Danny came to Miami/Keys. He really enjoyed it, fishing, snorkeling, taking walks and taking in nature (which I know he loved). It was a fun time, I will never forget it. I will keep him in my thoughts. My condolences to the family, may they find peace in knowing what a good man their father was.

I only met Mr. Walsh one time over 40 years ago; yet, his jovial spirit touched my heart for a lifetime. I always enjoyed hearing stories of how he touched other lives, as well. He was one in a million. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time. May you feel comforted knowing you have a special angel watching over you!
