Fred Moretti Obituary

F red Moretti of West Nanticoke passed away Sunday at Mercy Special Care Hospital, Nanticoke.
Born in Glen Lyon, he was a son of the late Louis and Rose (Catnes) Moretti, and resided in West Nanticoke most of his life. He was a life member of St. Francis Church, Nanticoke, and its Holy Name Society. He was a founding father of the Plymouth Township Volunteer Fire Co. and was an active member. He was also an avid golfer, getting a hole in one at the age of 82. Prior to retirement, he had been employed as an auto appraiser for Catnes Chevrolet for 20 years, and Lynn Appraisers for 15 years. He also was the Plymouth Township Tax Collector for 12 years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Ruth Bronson; his daughter, Linda Moretti Cobb; brothers Paul, Anthony and Albert; sisters Lillian Panella and Marie Butka.
Surviving are his sons Fred and his wife, Ursula, Midlothian, Va.; Raymond, Wilkes-Barre; one granddaughter Lea Ann; great-grandchildren Kaylee, Cody, Desi and Michael; a sister, Carol Levendowski, Nanticoke.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 22 Prospect St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Francis Church. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lake Township.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
