George Kocyan Obituary

Nov. 27, 2012

George H. Kocyan Jr., a 50-year Moorestown, N.J., resident, peacefully passed on Nov. 27, 2012, age 90 years young.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, his lifelong achievements included attaining Eagle Scout, an Aircraft Pilot's License, Lehigh University B.S. Mechanical Engineer and Drexel University M.S. Engineering Management degrees, development of his consulting engineering firm, and commendations for professional work in the transportation and defense industries, including Baldwin locomotives, weapons systems, Apollo missiles, Piasecki helicopters, SEPTA subways, and Lakehurst Naval Air Engineering Center carrier jets.

Interests included reading scientific and historical literature, professional writing, designing and problem-solving.

NASCAR and league sports interests aside, he was once pitcher for his corporate baseball team.

Most of all he enjoyed family gatherings and was the beloved husband of Dolores Kocyan for 63 years, father of daughter Nancy T. and Bill Everham, son George H. III, and Mary Kocyan, daughter Marie C. Kocyan, daughter Eloise (Elli) Kocyan, son Robert J. and Arissara Kocyan, and grandfather of Harry Everham, Ruthanne Everham, Jared B. Kocyan, Justin B. Kocyan and great-grandfather of Billy Everham.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 42 West Main, Moorestown, N.J., at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec 7. Private interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Kocyan may be made to the organization of your choice. Funeral under the direction of McChesney Funeral Home, Moorestown, N.J.
