Janice Bullock Obituary

SWOYERSVILLE — Janice K. Bullock, RN, BSN, 63, of Swoyersville died Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

She was born in Meshoppen on Aug. 5, 1952, the daughter of the late Percy E. and Catherine L. (Harvey) Bullock. She was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School, class of 1970, and Nesbitt Nursing School class of 1974. In 1994, she received her bachelor's degree in science and nursing at Wilkes University.

Janice was a registered nurse, working first at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital and then at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She enjoyed swimming, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penn State football and the Philadelphia Phillies. She loved flowers and working in her garden.

She is survived by a son, Jeffrey Hanadel, of Swoyersville; a long time companion, Phillip Hanadel, of Swoyersville; two brothers Joseph and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Tunkhannock, and Jack, of Tunkhannock; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, James and John M. Bullock.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday from the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock. Friends may call at the funeral home 9 a.m. to time of service, with interment at Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wyoming County Chapter of the American Red Cross, P.O Box 386, Tunkhannock, PA, 18657.

I worked with Janice at Nesbitt & WBGH as well. She always had a great smile & open personality. Even if the day was not going well-- she at least made you smile as that was contagious. She was a great nurse and leader. God bless her son, Jeffrey, and partner, Phil. RIP Janice.
