MOUNTAIN TOP — Julia Adamczyk, of Mountain Top, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at Mountain Top Senior Care and Rehab.
Born Jan. 20, 1921, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late John and Julia (Kupha) Partash.
Julia attended Wilkes-Barre area schools and was a graduate of Smith Nursing School. She was employed in the area garment and shoe factories for many years. Julia was a member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre Township. She enjoyed crafts and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter, Eloise Ann, in 1949; grandchildren, Michael and Thomas; brothers, Andrew, John Jr. and Michael Partash; and sisters, Mary George and Veronica Reynolds.
Surviving are her son, Thomas Adamczyk and his wife, Michaline, of Mountain Top; daughters, Mary Ann Shubilla and her husband, Stanley, of Philadelphia, Juliann Lewis, of Laurel, Md., and Elaine M. Luther and her husband, Butch, of Hughesville, Md.; grandchildren, Laura Shubilla, Sandra Moumoutjis, Scott Lewis, Kimberley Brown, Scooter and John Luther, David, Brian, Ricky and Matthew Adamczyk; great-grandchildren, Zoe, Ana, Eva, Owen, Lucas, Veronica, Anthony, Austin V., Meagan, Maddy, Dayton, Jessica, Dominique, Michael, Samantha, D.J., Stephen, Brianna, Kristen, Nicole and Grace; sister, Ann O'Krogly, of New Jersey; and brother, George Partash, of Sugar Notch.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. in St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Chestnut Street, Wilkes-Barre Township. The Rev. Mikhaylo Prodanets, pastor, will be officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Parastas services will be held at 4 p.m.
