Leslie Maiorana Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of our beautiful daughter, Leslie Nadine Maiorana, 52 years old, of Duryea.

Born on April 16, 1973, she is the daughter of Bud and Mary (Volpe) Maiorana of Pittston.

Leslie passed away on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Our hearts are broken and she will be forever missed.

Along with her parents, she is survived by her brother, Charles; sister-in-law, Melissa; her beloved nephew, Nico; aunts and uncles, Sally and Frank Restuccia, Hilda and Sam Sciandra; and several special cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Josephine Volpe, Charles and Hilda Maiorana, and her cousin and confidante, Nadine (Restuccia) DeMarco.

Leslie graduated from Seton Catholic High School and Marywood University. She was employed by Nabisco, Kraft Foods, and Genpact LLC for 29 years and received many accolades from customers and management throughout her career.

Leslie was courageous in her battle with breast cancer. She overcame many hurdles along the way but stayed positive until the very end.

Most recently, Leslie was the 2024 recipient of "Paint the Planet Pink Award for Courage." The award contains a quote by Mary Anne Radmacher, which states, "Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow," which she demonstrated on a daily basis.

Nothing gave her more pleasure than to be with her family, friends and co-workers going out to dinner, listening to music, shopping (especially bus trips to New York), talking to her cousin Natalie on the phone and vacationing with friends at the Jersey Shore.

She had a wonderful personality. She was kind, generous, witty, grateful, but most of all, loving to her family and friends and told them so.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bruce Saidman and all the wonderful nurses and staff at Medical Oncology (Kingston) for their compassionate care and also for their compliments on her colorful wigs. They made her day!

Also, our thanks to her special friends Desiree, Dennis, Jessica, Melinda, Kim and many more too numerous to mention, who were so caring and generous in her time of need. She was truly blessed.

A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Father Paul McDonnell OSJ, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 29, in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston. Visitation is from noon to 1 p.m. in the church with the Mass to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leslie's name to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Medical Oncology Associates Prescription Assistance Fund, 382 Pierce St., Kingston, PA 18704.

Arrangements are entrusted to Graziano Funeral Home. For information or to share a memory of Leslie, visit www.GrazianoFuneralHome.com.
