Mark Wnek Obituary

Mark A. Wnek, 65, of Broad Street, Nanticoke, died unexpectedly, Thursday, August 16, 2007, at home.
Born June 3, 1942, in Plymouth, he was a son of the late John and Josephine (Ropietski) Wnek. Mark was a graduate of St. Vincent High School, Plymouth,
He served his country in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division.
Mark retired from U.G.I. Electric Company after 36 years in 2005. He was a member of St. Francis Church, Nanticoke.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He was always there for his family and will be deeply missed by all.
Mark was a great NASCAR and New York Yankees fan.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony and John.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years on August 14, the former Bernice L. Carver; son, Mark J. and his wife, Joanne, of Long Island, N.Y.; daughter, Sharon and her husband, Chuck Walters, of Nanticoke; grandson, Mark Walters, of Nanticoke; sister, Josephine Belenski, of Colorado; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles.
Funeral will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday from the Piszczek-Desiderio Funeral Home Inc., 70 E. Main St., Plymouth, with services at 9 a.m. in All Saints Parish, Willow Street, Plymouth. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Plymouth Township. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony and John.

Dear Aunt Bernice, Cousins Mark and Sharon - I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Mark - I have such fond memories of him especially all those Sundays out at Harvey's Lake. He was so much fun and was always there for everyone. He will be greatly missed. I am sorry I can't be there in person, but my prayers are with all of you.

Dear Bernice,Sharon, Chuck, Mark, Mark, and Joanne; I am deeply sorry for the loss of you father. I know he was loving and caring of all of you. I know he will be greatly missed by everyone. He was a great person and so good to the kids. He was like the 4th kid over Sharon's house. Always playing with the kids. He had a great heart! He will be missed by all of us. Again I am sorry.
