I feel funny calling him Pat after knowing him as Mr. Cosgrove at Pittston Area High School. I recall his humor in class and his dedication to ensuring the class got the most from his knowledge and training. I also volunteered with the Drama Club, which Pat was instrumental in leading. Years later I ran into Pat at a meeting of Bill W.'s friends and was glad to reconnect with him in a different setting. We shared our experience, strength, and hope with each other and then Pat hurried off to clean up after the meeting. His dedication to working with others and passing on what he knew shone through. I'm proud to call him a friend and glad that I met him back at Pittston Area.

Heartfelt sympathy to the family. In high school Pat and I were partners on the school debate team. We sent countless hours in the school library and science lab discussing political issues and planning debate strategies from nuclear arms to universal healthcare. We became dear friends and confidants as we planned our paths after high school.
My life is richer for his friendship long ago. In all of you his family and students his dreams came true. I left Pittston to become a Sister of Christan Charity after high school. I have only seen Pat twice in all of these years. We updated our lives and shared our hopes again. He was a good friend. My prayers are with
you as you entrust him to God this week. (Formerly Mary Louise Moughan). Sister Diane SCC

My deepest sympathy to the Cosgrove family. I had Pat as a teacher at Pittston Area. He was a great teacher and I was sorry to see him choose another career path. He was a great person and was privileged to call him a friend. Memory Eternal!

When I was in St John's Elementary School, I joined the marching band in 2nd grade. Patrick was four years older than me but he was always a presence. When he reached high school he became the leader of the band, the drum major. He was always happy and it was infectious. He was the type of person everyone wanted to be around. I liked him tremendously and wanted to be like him. After I graduated from St. John's, I was asked to be the Drum Major for St John's band while I was attending King's College. I was always proud to have held the same position that Patrick had held. I have many happy memories of him as a student and band member. I've thought of him often over the years and am sad to see he has passed. I'll still have my memories of him and they are as happy as he was then. My prayers are with his family. You can't help missing someone as nice as Patrick.
