WILKES-BARRE — Peggy Jo Shedlock, 84, of the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024 at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre. The family would like to thank the staff at Allied and Geisinger South for the amazing care and support they provided.
She was born on November 7, 1940 in Wilkes-Barre, the daughter of the late Bill and Jeanne Conway. Peggy was a 1958 graduate of Coughlin High School and was employed by the Social Security Administration for many years.
She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making and altering clothing for family and friends. Peggy was a cancer survivor and a volunteer with the American Cancer Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Bill Conway, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory, are her beloved husband of 63 years, Walter Shedlock; son Mark W. Shedlock and his wife, Rochelle; grandchildren, Cameron J. Shedlock and Carly J. Shedlock; brother Rev. Dr. George E. Conway and his wife Deborah; sisters- in-law; nieces and nephews.
One of Peggy's greatest joys in life was her grandchildren. Her love for them was endless and a constant source of happiness. Known as Grammy, she was there for countless events in their lives. She loved spending time with family and friends.
A private graveside service will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. The service will be conducted by Peggy's brother.
