Rick and I were among about 6 US Airways pilots who periodically shared a commuter pad in Pittsburgh for a few years. He was a smart man who understood and enjoyed friendship. It has been several years since we last talked. An internet search took me to his obituary a few days ago. I'm sorry we lost touch, Rick. Thanks for the memories. You are and were a class act. You have flown west, but it won't be too long before we'll meet again. RIP, my friend.

Very sad news to discover this today.
I was his kiteboarding instructor in Cocoa Beach. I remember out lessons and time on the water vividly. He was one of my favorite students for his positive mindset and dedication.
He will surely be missed.

https://www.facebook.com/george.spalding.750 I met Rick while flying for a regional airline. His personality and smile always opened all the doors for him. He also had the professional abilities and smarts to back it up. The girls all melted for him ... It seems impossible that he has passed as he always left the impression he would be here forever ... All the pilots wanted to be like Rick. It seemed like he could do and get anything he wanted ... I am sure he is with some "knock out" up in heaven ... May you have fair winds and following seas ... RIP Rick P.S. ... no more arguing for the union ...
