Richard D. Polak, 81, of Larksville, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, in Geisinger Medical Center, with family by his side.
Born in Exeter, he was the son of the late John and Helen Schultz Polak and served his country proudly in the United States Army. He worked in the construction industry for many years for Ed Geida Construction and more recently at Lowes. Richard was a man who always put his loved ones first, offering unwavering support, quiet strength, and a generous heart and would do anything for anyone. His passion for Mustangs and fast cars with his grandson was matched only by his love of the outdoors. Some of his happiest moments were spent beside a quiet lake, hunting and fishing with his grandson, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Schultz Polak; father, John Polak Sr.; brother, John (Jake) Polak; sister, Ann Scarantino; and brother, Edward Polak.
Left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss is his wife of 60 years, Madeline Koprowski Polak of Larksville; daughter, Tracey Sabulski and her husband, Gary of Larksville; grandson, Gary J. Sabulski of Larksville, who was the world to Richard; brother-in-law's; sister-in-law's, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy was his family.
Though no public service will be held, Richard's life will be remembered in the stories shared, the laughter echoed, and the love that continues through those he held dear.
