Ruth Flanley Obituary

Ruth A. Flanley, 82, of the Newtown section of Hanover Township, died Friday, August 20, 2010, at the home of her daughter in Sarasota, Fla. Born Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late William and Ida Morris Tosh, and was a graduate of Hanover Area High School, Class of 1946. Prior to retiring, Ruth worked for RCA, and was a member of the Nippers Club. She enjoyed volunteering for the American Red Cross, and was a life long member of St. Aloysius Church, Hanover Township. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Flanley; a son, Frank (Buddy) Flanley; a sister, Margaret McEvoy; and three brothers, Robert, Thomas and William Tosh. She is survived by her daughter, Maureen, and son-in-law, Jim Urbaniak, of Sarasota, Fla.; a son, Bill (Sham) Flanley, Newtown section of Hanover Twp; six grandchildren, Kellee Travis, Lauren Saxton, Leah Marano, Lindsey Molnar, Cade Flanley, and Gavin Flanley; four great- grandchildren, Sophia and Michael Marano and Evelyn and Jack Saxton, as well as nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Lehman Family Funeral Service, 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Aloysius Church, 143 Division St., Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. Andrew Sinnott will officiate. Entombment will be in St. Therese's Mausoleum at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
