Larry Bruce "Tank" Lambert

Larry Bruce Lambert, affectionately known as "Tank", passed away from a stroke on February 17, 2025 in Vancouver, WA, at the age of 71.

Born on March 21, 1953 in San Diego, CA, to Bruce and Elva "Skip" Lambert, as the older of twin boys. He graduated from Chelan High School in 1971 before continuing his education at Wenatchee Valley College. Later in life, his passion for learning brought him to the University of Phoenix where he earned an IT degree.

Larry's professional life was marked by dedication and innovation. He worked for Cascade Airways starting as a ticket agent all the way up to station manager in Missoula and Tri Cities. He often talked fondly of the lifelong friends he made and the people he met while working for the airlines. Larry contributed as a writer for the Chelan Valley Mirror and Cascade World/Skies, showcasing his love for storytelling and communication. During his life, he had jobs as eclectic and varied as lifeguard, security, videographer, Lyft driver, Humane Society volunteer -- and even starred in a national campaign for Nutrisystem in the 1980s.

But by far his greatest passion was teaching. He shared his knowledge at Western Business College in Portland, OR, and Southwestern College in Chula Vista, CA. He played a key role in implementing the Online Learning Center at Southwestern College, revolutionizing access to education for countless students. His efforts were recognized when he was named Educator of the Year, a testament to his dedication and impact on those he taught.

Beyond his professional achievements, Larry found joy in all living creatures, music including playing his King Silver Flair trumpet and traveling the world. His sense of humor and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Larry was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his twin brother Terry Lambert (Maureen), niece Carrie Nelson, many beloved cousins and family members along with countless cherished friends. May those who knew and loved Larry find comfort in their memories of him.
