Curtis Schmidt Obituary
East Liverpool - Curtis "Ron" Schmidt Sr., 73, of East Liverpool, Ohio, passed away January 15, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Rochester, PA on March 31, 1947, he was the son of the late, Martin and Catherine (Gormley) Schmidt.
He proudly served his county in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a crane operator for St Joe Lead. He was a member of VFW Post 66 East Liverpool, American Legion 374 and a former member of the Tri-State Veterans Military Funeral Group.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Randy Douds Sr.; a brother, Gary Lee Schmidt and a sister, Shirley Burkshure.
Surviving are his wife, Gloria (Hall) Schmidt of East Liverpool ; a son, Curtis S (Lisa) Schmidt Jr. of New Cumberland; five daughters, Christina (John) Weyand of East Liverpool, Bobbie (Tim) Wooley of East Liverpool , Michell (Joe) Brown of Aliquippa, Tina Dasher (Donald Clifford) of East Liverpool and Crystal (Stanley) Pugh of East Liverpool; twenty one grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Bonnie) Schmidt of Monaca; and a sister, Linda (Bill) Clayton of Elwood City.
Visitation is Tuesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WVa, where funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20,2021. The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord military honors. Interment will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park, East Liverpool, Ohio.
